Cheltenham
Cheltenham became a spa
town in 1716. In 1788 King George III came to drink the waters and
the transformation of Cheltenham into a fashionable resort for the
aristocracy soon developed. Sweeping classical terraces & elegant
villas set around broad tree lined walks became the vision of leading
developers. Fortunately to this day, this has been retained making
Cheltenham one of the most complete Regency towns in England.
